The Trust needs your support!
By joining the Trust you will:
- Show the decision makers that you really care. National and local government and grant awarding bodies (such as the National Lottery) take notice of the amount of support that we have. Showing a growing membership helps us enormously.
- Provide a useful contribution to the costs of running the project – and if you can complete the Gift Aid declaration, you can make sure that the Treasury helps too.
- Be kept informed of progress – we plan to send each member 3 newsletters each year, and there are occasional other updates. Members with email are also invited to meetings from time to time.
- Be able to participate at exactly the level you want.
- We have many members who take no active part in the Trust. That’s fine, we appreciate the support they show by being a member, and not everyone has the time or ability to do more.
- Some members participate in local groups – these meeting approximately once every 2 months, and these groups provide the manning for stands at local festivals and similar events (but you don’t commit yourself to anything by joining the group).
- Some members have the time and inclination to join the Volunteer Committee, and get involved in the decision making process.
- Be able to say to friends, relatives and colleagues “I’m helping this to happen”
Membership fees are reasonable and have not changed since 2003 – don’t hesitate, join today. Click here to download a membership form.
Membership Renewal
We continually look for ways to make renewal simpler for our members, especially as use of cheques generally is reducing, and some current accounts no longer have a cheque book attached. We are keen to start accepting credit cards and direct debits, but unfortunately have not yet found a way to do this economically - some would eat up nearly half of the payment.
Standing Orders have an obvious appeal, but we have taken advice from similar organisations which have accepted these, and have been warned that the resource required to keep these up to date is disproportionate to the benefit gained.
Consequently, we will not be accepting Standing Orders; but we will continue to search for cost-effective ways to make renewal simpler and more automatic. Rest assured that there will be no delay in introducing these as soon as they are discovered."
